Apply for this role (opens in a new tab)Mechanical Commissioning Specialist Our client is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Specialist to lead commissioning activities on data center projects, including testing, equipment start-up, and coordination with clients and contractors to ensure safe, functional systems.
Pay: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and perform mechanical commissioning activities, including QA/QC and Functional Performance testing
- Oversee equipment and systems start-up for data center environments
- Support and document L2/L3 commissioning activities
- Lead L4/L5 testing for data center commissioning
- Coordinate directly with clients, project stakeholders, and contractors
- Focus on operational performance and efficiency throughout commissioning process
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent years of experience 10+ years of progressive experience as a mechanical commissioning specialist, including utility infrastructure, life safety, mechanical systems, plumbing systems, building/facility systems, building automation controls, and facility O&M2-3 years of focused experience documenting L2/L3 activities and leading L4/L5 testing for data center commissioning Working knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, and TAB mechanical testing and code requirements Understanding of the construction processUS Citizenship required Must be able to clear a background check Ability to travel up to 95%Preferred Qualifications: Candidates residing in the Washington, DC or Northern VA Metro area preferred (relocation expenses may be considered for the right candidate) Industry-recognized commissioning certificationIR Thermography Level 1 or Level 2 certificationAWS or similar L4 lead certificationNFPA 70E certificationOSHA 10 (minimum), OSHA 30 (preferred) Experience with IR thermography
