Optical Technician

Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented person to join our team. This role is pivotal in managing administrative tasks while supporting the clinical staff, making it essential for maintaining an efficient workflow. Primary Responsibilities: - Greet and establish a relationship with patients - Conduct pre-exam tests including visual field tests, auto-refractions, IOPs, and retinal photographs, and OCT imaging. You will be trained on how to use the equipment. - Training first-time contact lens wearers with insertion, removal, and proper maintenance of contact lenses. - Answer incoming calls with professionalism, providing information and assistance to patients. - Schedule and confirm appointments for patients, ensuring optimal use of the office calendar. - Conduct insurance verification to confirm coverage and benefits prior to appointments and ensure proper informed consent is obtained. Insurance verification. - Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems. regulations. - Assist with general office duties, including managing correspondence and maintaining office supplies. - Collaborate with other medical offices to enhance patient experience and operational efficiency. Experience - Previous experience in an optometry or medical or office setting is preferred but not necessary. - Familiarity with electronic health record systems is a plus. - Strong phone etiquette and customer service skills are essential for effective communication with patients. - Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as this skill enhances patient interaction.
