Position Overview:
As a Staff Accountant on our Financial Services team, you’ll build on your public accounting experience while taking on greater responsibility across financial statement audit engagements. You’ll work directly with Supervisors, Managers, and clients to perform audit procedures, assist with financial statement preparation, and contribute to engagements from planning through completion. Our smaller engagement teams give you the opportunity to understand the bigger picture behind the work you’re performing—not simply complete one piece of an audit and pass it along. We’re intentional about helping our people grow. Through hands-on experience, regular coaching, firm training, and our Learning & Development (L&D) Dashboard, you’ll continue building your technical expertise, confidence, efficiency, and independent judgment as you progress toward the next stage of your career.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform audit testing and analytical procedures for assigned areas in accordance with firm methodology and professional standards.
Assist in drafting financial statements, footnotes, disclosures, and other engagement deliverables.
Gather, organize, and analyze client information needed to complete audit and financial reporting procedures.
Prepare clear, accurate, and well-supported audit workpapers and documentation.
Communicate directly with clients and engagement team members to obtain information, resolve questions, and provide timely status updates.
Apply knowledge and experience from prior engagements to improve audit quality, efficiency, and independence.
Use firm technology and audit tools effectively to complete assignments accurately and consistently.
Take ownership of assigned responsibilities, manage deadlines, and proactively communicate questions, issues, or competing priorities.
Actively engage with the firm’s Learning & Development (L&D) Dashboard to track progress and continue developing technical knowledge and audit proficiency.
Attend and participate in departmental Level 10 (L10) meetings by providing updates on assigned responsibilities, contributing to issue discussions, and supporting team progress toward weekly and quarterly goals.
Take ownership of assigned quarterly Rocks by completing action steps on schedule, communicating progress during L10 meetings, and contributing to initiatives that strengthen departmental efficiency and client service.
Participate in Continuing Professional Education (CPE), firm training, and other professional development opportunities.
Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment by demonstrating the firm’s Core Values and supporting colleagues across engagements.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support client service and firm operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.1–3 years of audit experience within public accounting required.
CPA candidate or demonstrated progress toward CPA licensure preferred.
Working knowledge of GAAP and auditing principles.
Experience performing audit procedures and preparing clear, well-supported workpapers.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to interact professionally with clients.
Ability to learn from feedback and apply knowledge gained from prior engagements to new situations.
Ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of individual responsibilities.
Strong time-management and prioritization skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and experience with accounting or audit software.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold professional and ethical standards.
