Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Company Description: More Than Words | Speech-Feeding-Lactation is a pediatric-focused practice specializing in speech therapy, feeding support, and lactation services. The team is dedicated to helping infants, children, and families improve communication, feeding, and daily functional skills in a supportive and family-centered environment. The practice emphasizes evidence-based interventions, collaborative care, and individualized treatment plans. Team members work closely with caregivers and other professionals to promote meaningful progress in home, school, and community settings.

Role Description: The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will provide direct treatment to pediatric clients under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, focusing on functional skills such as fine motor development, sensory processing, self-care, and feeding-related activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, documenting sessions, tracking patient progress, and communicating updates to the supervising therapist and caregivers. The role involves preparing therapy materials, maintaining a safe and engaging treatment environment, and participating in team meetings and care coordination. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Phoenix, AZ, requiring consistent in-person collaboration with the clinical team and families.

Qualifications: Demonstrated skills in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, with experience supporting pediatric clients. Ability to deliver high-quality Patient Care, including monitoring progress and adapting interventions to individual needs. Experience with Program Development and Home Care, including developing home exercise programs and caregiver education. Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and current state licensure (or eligibility) in Arizona. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with families, therapists, and other professionals. Ability to maintain accurate documentation, manage a caseload, and follow evidence-based practices. Prior pediatric or early intervention experience is highly beneficial; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Location: 706 E. Bell Rd. Phoenix, Arizona 85022. This is a clinic based position with no travel required. Pay Type: W-2; pay the same rate for direct vs indirect time with documentation, planning, prep time allowed each day.

Pay: Starting at $29.00-$36.00 per hour DOE, guaranteed 40 hours per week for full-time employees, with weekly productivity bonuses available.
