Allen Capital Group is an independent wealth management firm headquartered in Grand Island, Nebraska, with offices statewide. Behind every investment decision is the work required to put that strategy into action. Every model change made by our Chief Investment Officer, every client distribution, and every portfolio rebalance must be executed accurately and on time across hundreds of client accounts. That’s where the Trading Specialist comes in. Based in our Omaha office, the Trading Specialist serves as the critical link between our investment strategy and our clients’ portfolios. This role is responsible for ensuring investment decisions are implemented accurately, efficiently, and consistently across the firm. The best trading operations are seamless. Clients may never see the work happening behind the scenes, but they depend on it every day. This role requires someone who takes ownership, pays close attention to the details, and understands that even small decisions can have a meaningful impact. Efficiency matters, but accuracy, consistency, and doing it right the first time comes first.
What You’ll Do: As a Trading Specialist, you’ll be responsible for translating investment decisions and advisor requests into accurate, timely action across client portfolios.
Your responsibilities will include: Assign and invest client accounts according to approved model allocations and advisor requests. Execute ETF, mutual fund, and equity trades as directed by the Chief Investment Officer, Portfolio Manager, and advisors. Partner closely with the investment team to implement model changes across hundreds of client accounts. Raise and manage cash within client accounts for distributions, withdrawals, fees, and other client needs. Process on-demand trade requests from advisors while maintaining a high standard of accuracy. Update and maintain trading models based on direction from the Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager. Review prior-day trading activity to confirm proper execution and identify potential issues. Complete daily data scrubs, reports, and queries to verify custodian data and maintain accurate information within the trading system. Liquidate accounts and individual positions when necessary to meet client needs or facilitate account transitions. Use Excel and other technology platforms to analyze account data, identify exceptions, and support trading workflows. Help identify opportunities to improve trading processes, reduce errors, and create greater efficiency as the firm grows.
What We’re Looking For: We’re looking for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, comfortable with technology, and willing to take ownership of their work. You don’t need years of industry experience to succeed in this role, we’re open to recent college graduates who are eager to learn. Bachelor’s degree. Interest in investments, financial markets, wealth management, or financial services. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to getting things right. Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large amounts of data. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment without sacrificing accuracy. Self-motivated and comfortable working independently while knowing when to ask questions. A “second-level thinker” who looks beyond the immediate task, considers the downstream impact, and asks what could happen next. Adaptable and comfortable with changing processes, technology, and priorities as the firm grows. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with advisors, investment professionals, and other members of the team. Comfortable spending much of the day working across trading systems, spreadsheets, and web-based technology. Demonstrates sound judgment and discretion when working with confidential client and firm information. Market knowledge and an understanding of trading concepts are a plus, but not required. Experience with Schwab, Orion, or similar custodial and portfolio management platforms is a plus. Brings a positive attitude and contributes to a collaborative, enjoyable team culture.
What Success Looks Like: Success in this role means trades are executed accurately, client cash needs are handled on time, model changes are implemented correctly, and potential issues are identified before they become problems. Over time, you’ll develop a strong understanding of how investment strategy moves from an idea to implementation across real client portfolios. We want someone who takes pride in being the person the team can rely on to get the details right.
Compensation & Benefits: Competitive compensation with a comprehensive benefits package.
Start Date: As soon as we find the right person. We’re ready when you are and can be flexible based on your availability. Ready to Apply? Please send your resume to Travis@allencapgroup.com or Brian@allencapgroup.com. We’d love to hear from you.
