The Role: We are seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead and continuously improve our end-to-end Supply Chain function, from production planning, sourcing, procurement, and vendor management through logistics, carrier management, and operational support. Success means Fifty Flowers has the right flowers, from the right farms, at the right time and cost, with quality, freshness, reliability, service levels, and profitability protected even as supply conditions change.
Core Accountabilities: Own purchasing execution and performance, aligned with customer demand, availability, quality, farm capacity, and business priorities.- Lead and develop the Buyers and Purchasing Support team, with clear ownership, standards, decision rights, KPIs, and coaching.- Drive flower and freight cost negotiations with the Group President to protect profitability, quality, and service levels.- Build a disciplined production and supply planning process that anticipates supply gaps and constraints early.- Support flower selection and product development by giving Product/Merchandising insight on farm capabilities, seasonality, availability, costs, and supply risks.- Build and strengthen the farm and supplier network, including identifying, negotiating with, and onboarding new suppliers and managing performance.- Own supplier allocation and purchasing strategy across farms, balancing freshness, quality, landed cost, reliability, and margin rather than buying on price alone.- Own logistics strategy and carrier relationships, including rate negotiations, service levels, capacity, and peak-season strategy.- Drive logistics performance: on-time delivery, shipment integrity, claims, root-cause resolution, and contingency plans.- Create actionable Supply Chain visibility through dashboards and KPIs.- Drive continuous improvement through Bloom Brain, defining Supply Chain requirements and partnering with Technology on implementation and adoption.
Required Qualifications: 5+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, sourcing, buying, logistics, operations, or a related function, including direct responsibility for suppliers and operational execution.- Experience leading and developing teams and building repeatable processes in a fast-moving environment.- Strong demand/supply planning and analytical capability.- Proven supplier-management and negotiation experience.- Working knowledge of freight, transportation, carrier performance, customs/import processes, and operational risk management.- Advanced Excel or equivalent analytical skills; comfort with ERP/OMS, purchasing, inventory, planning, and reporting systems.- Strong cross-functional communication; able to make clear decisions with incomplete information and coordinate teams across locations and time zones.
Preferred: Professional fluency in English and Spanish, to work directly with farms and supply partners throughout Latin America.- Experience with flowers, agriculture, food, fresh goods, or another perishable/time-sensitive supply chain.- Experience in ecommerce, direct-to-consumer, B2B distribution, or event/date-driven demand environments.- Experience implementing or improving supply-chain technology, supplier scorecards, dashboards, or automation. What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months- A clear operating model for Buying and Purchasing Support, with defined ownership, KPIs, and decision rights.- Farm and supplier performance measured and actively managed through scorecards, business reviews, and corrective-action plans.- Earlier holiday and seasonal planning with documented capacity, sourcing, substitution, and logistics contingency plans.- Improved flower availability and fill rates, with fewer preventable disruptions, claims, and last-minute customer interventions.- Flower and freight costs proactively managed and optimized without compromising quality, reliability, or service.- Improved carrier performance and accountability.- Reliable leadership visibility into Supply Chain performance and risks through a practical KPI/dashboard cadence.- Bloom Brain effectively adopted and expanded within Supply Chain.
