Responsibilities
Job Summary:
The Clinic Surgery Scheduler coordinates and schedules all surgical procedures for patients scheduled through the Oroville Hospital clinics. The scheduler receives requests to schedule procedures from the physician and schedules the procedure with the OR surgery scheduler according to established guidelines.
Duties:
Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures for clinic patients
Assure authorizations, clearances, consent, clinical and insurance information is obtained prior to scheduled surgery date
Update and maintain your pending surgical cases on the Surgical Dashboard
Communicate on a daily basis with Surgery Scheduling Coordinator, OR Department and Financial Counseling
Communicate regularly with Pre-Operative Clinic to ensure required work up is complete before the Preop appointment
Keep open lines of communication with the physicians, patients and management.
Answers the phones in a professional and courteous manner
Performs all duties in an independent manner with little or no need for direct supervision
Coordinate with other hospital departments when special surgical needs occur
Medical Assistant, Medical Assistant II job duties as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
