Morris Heights Health Center (MHHC) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Dentist to join our Primary Care Sites and help expand access to high-quality oral healthcare for the patients and communities we serve. About the Opportunity: This position is specifically based within MHHC’s Primary Care Sites and is ideal for a dentist who values comprehensive care, prevention, continuity, and interdisciplinary collaboration. As a Dentist within our Primary Care Sites, you will: Provide comprehensive dental examinations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning Deliver preventive, restorative, and routine dental services, including cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, fillings, extractions, and other appropriate procedures within scope Diagnose and manage common oral health conditions across diverse patient populations Provide patient and family education regarding oral hygiene, nutrition, preventive dental care, and treatment adherence Identify patients requiring specialty dental services and coordinate appropriate referrals and follow-up Respond to urgent and emergent dental needs within the primary care setting Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation Collaborate with medical, nursing, behavioral health, care management, specialty, dental, and operational teams at the primary care sites Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, infection prevention, and regulatory readiness initiatives Support oral health education, prevention, outreach, and community engagement activities Contribute to an integrated model of care that recognizes oral health as an important component of overall health
What We’re Looking For: DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school Current and unrestricted New York State dental license Current BLS/CPR certification Ability to meet MHHC credentialing and privileging requirements Experience providing comprehensive general dentistry preferred Primary care, community health, ambulatory care, or safety-net healthcare experience preferred Experience caring for diverse adult and pediatric populations strongly preferred Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient-engagement skills Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care teams Commitment to culturally responsive, patient-centered care and reducing oral-health disparities
