Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring TRAVELING ELECTRICAL GENERAL FOREMAN in Sterling Heights, MI. We are seeking an experienced Traveling Electrical General Foreman to lead field operations on a large-scale, mission-critical data center construction project in New Florence, MO. In this role, you will supervise multiple electrical crews, coordinate daily field activities, and ensure installations are completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with project specifications, NEC requirements, and applicable codes. The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of electrical construction experience, a strong background in large commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects, and proven ability to develop field leadership and drive production in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.

Licenses/Certifications Required:
OSHA 30 (preferred)
NFPA 70E Training (preferred)
CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred)
NCCER or equivalent electrical credential (preferred)
Journeyman Electrician License where applicable (preferred)
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate multiple electrical crews working across various areas of the data center project, providing daily direction to Foremen, Journeymen, Apprentices, and electrical labor.
Oversee installation of electrical systems including medium-voltage distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, busway and busduct, cable tray, conduit, feeders, branch circuits, grounding, bonding, and lighting.
Assign manpower and equipment based on project priorities, monitor crew productivity, and make adjustments to maintain schedule commitments.
Work closely with the Superintendent and Project Manager to develop and execute short-term and weekly work plans, tracking manpower, materials, equipment, and production against project schedules.
Coordinate electrical installation activities with mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, controls, low-voltage, and other trade partners to support project milestones and commissioning activities.
Review drawings, specifications, and construction documents to identify field requirements, potential conflicts, and constructability issues, communicating RFIs and design conflicts to project leadership.
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all electrical crews, conduct daily safety meetings and jobsite inspections, and ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
Ensure all installations meet project specifications, NEC requirements, and applicable codes, working with QA/QC personnel to identify deficiencies and ensure timely correction.
Coordinate material deliveries and ensure crews have necessary materials and equipment to maintain productivity, participating in daily huddles, weekly planning meetings, and project coordination meetings.
Mentor Foremen and develop field leadership within the project team, maintaining accurate documentation of field progress and manpower throughout all project phases including closeout, punch list, and commissioning.
Qualifications:
7+ years of electrical construction experience with significant experience on large commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center projects.
Previous experience as a General Foreman, Electrical Foreman, Superintendent, or equivalent field leadership role with demonstrated responsibility for supervising multiple electrical crews.
Strong understanding of commercial and industrial electrical systems, including medium-voltage distribution, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, busway, and critical power infrastructure.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, and construction documents.
Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable electrical construction practices and standards.
Experience coordinating multiple trades on large-scale construction sites and managing installation sequencing to support project milestones.
Solid understanding of construction sequencing, manpower planning, and field production management.
Ability to identify field problems, develop practical solutions, and communicate schedule risks and material issues to project leadership.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to maintain clear, professional communication between field personnel, project management, and site leadership.
Willingness and ability to travel and remain on-site for the duration of a project assignment.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, walk, and move throughout an active construction site for extended periods.
Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and elevated work platforms as required by site conditions.
Must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds on occasion.
Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, and reach in the course of conducting field inspections and coordinating crew activities.
Must be able to work in varying outdoor and indoor environmental conditions including extreme heat and cold.
Must be able to work in loud environments and around heavy construction equipment.
Must comply with OSHA safety standards and all site-specific PPE requirements.
Must have sufficient vision to read construction drawings, inspect installations, and identify field conditions safely.
Pay Transparency:
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $124,800 to $128,960 annually, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
