Social Media Producer: Gloria ZhuAbout GloriaGloria Zhu is a San Francisco founder and investor building her personal brand in public ahead of HUES, her beverage brand launching in 2027. She started in tech in 2013, joined Square (Block) before its IPO, and then advised top tech founders at ICONIQ, JPMorgan, and BlackRock. Through her fund, Bearcat.com, she and her partner have backed Anthropic, Mr. Beast, Goop Kitchens, Jubilee Media, and DESTREE. She's a part owner of the Seattle Seahawks and a member of Vogue100. Her content is for founders, people still in corporate, and consumer brand fans who want to launch a CPG brand someday. She builds in public, calls out trends, and shares real tips for building a business, all to grow a community in ecom and CPG, and to attract future customers for HUES. Content will also emphasize health and wellness from a thoughtful, luxury angle. She scripts, films, and edits everything herself today and can't anymore. She wants a right hand who rolls up their sleeves, runs the strategy, and builds the structure.
Role Overview:
The Social Media Producer owns the whole content process: strategy, ideation, scripting, filming, editing, posting, reporting, and optimizing. You're the manager and the maker (we can hire an editor if you deem it helpful). You plan with Gloria before every film session, film it, cut it, post it, and analyze the data after. You help build carousels. You watch the analytics every week, tell Gloria what's working, and change the plan without being asked. The title is Social Media Producer because you produce the content, strategy, and structure. You report directly to Gloria and communicate with her daily. You're the first media team hire, and the team gets built around you. This is a role for someone looking to level up in their career and build an impactful personal brand.
Responsibilities:
Own the strategy: Instagram and YouTube first, everything else in maintenance mode. Set goals per account, pick content pillars to test, build the calendar around the year's tentpole events, and keep a strategy doc updated every quarter. Script and plan every film session: Build a pre-production doc for each one (script, shot list, hooks, gear, run of show). Propose ideas to Gloria, script with Gloria (she will brainstorm or provide a rough draft copy, but will lean on you to make the scripts more engaging), and push back on what's weak.
Film it: Decide whether Gloria will film individually or on-site in San Francisco, at events, and on trips. Own the camera, audio, lighting, framing, B-roll. Batch-film sessions so one day of filming feeds weeks of posting. If this is not your specialty, we can hire a videographer. Vertical first. Own the voice and the look: Captions sound like Gloria and every post is recognizable as her brand.
Own the DMs and comments: Reply daily and run ManyChat or Ellipsend for lead capture and the HUES waitlist.
Run on the data: Friday recap to Gloria. Double down on what works, scrap what doesn't.
Build the system: Workflow from idea to posted, a short SOP for each recurring task, AI without losing her voice. Decide if an editor is needed and help manage them.
Set up HUES and the team: Draft the HUES content plan before launch, source and vet the photographers, videographers, and brand creatives it needs, and help hire a Content Manager when the volume justifies it.
Help Gloria brainstorm which “free resources” she needs to create for the audience. Repurpose content effectively based on data findings and deep research.
Requirements:
3+ years of content execution for a personal brand, founder, or creator, with evidence to show. Corporate or agency work alone doesn't qualify. You can shoot and edit yourself, and you know good from bad well enough to manage an editor later. Professional, thoughtful, proactive, structured, and detail-oriented. Deep understanding of all social media platforms and platform native content creation. You have a knack for creativity and enjoy the process of content ideation and creation. You live on Instagram and YouTube and already follow top personal brands, founders, creators, and CPG brands. You have a deep understanding of social media platforms. Excited about AI workflows and smart about when not to use them. Strong understanding of content performance data. Able to travel to San Francisco once every 1-2 months. Privacy is a must.
Nice to have:
Experience launching a consumer or CPG brand on social, or building a brand on social. Experience using AI for content creation workflows. Design or photography chops for carousels and product shots. Experience managing freelancers and vendors.

You pick the tool stack and build the system. Core ValuesHigh-agency individual: I only work with people who take pride in what they do and are proactive about pushing things forward. What you get out of life is what you put in. No ego, thoughtful, structured, thorough, and detail-oriented: To build anything properly means we will have to be open to learning from the mistakes we’ll inevitably make, but we should start by approaching everything with as much measured precision as we can. Serious about the work, but we will still have a lot of fun: We’ll be spending a lot of time together, and this is going to be a really fun journey. Looking for a right-hand partner to go on this adventure with.
