Apply for this role →Accountant Senior The Accountant Senior is responsible for supporting the financial operations of Villa de Matel Center and affiliated entities through general accounting, accounts payable, payroll support, financial reporting, reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, and audit support. This position ensures financial transactions are processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Accountant Senior maintains vendor records, processes invoices and payments, prepares account reconciliations, assists with month-end and year-end closings, supports payroll activities, and prepares financial reports and schedules. The position also assists with audits, IRS reporting requirements, cash management activities, and maintaining internal controls. The successful candidate demonstrates strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of financial, payroll, employee, and organizational information. The Accountant Senior works collaboratively with leadership and staff while embodying the Villa de Matel Core Values of Dignity, Integrity, Excellence, Compassion, and Stewardship. Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum three years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment. Experience with general ledger accounting, accounts payable, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, preferably Sage. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.5 Days - 8 Hours - on-site
