Frontier Technology Institute (FTI), formerly The Coding School, is a non-profit organization dedicated to shaping the future workforce by making emerging tech education accessible to all. FTI is seeking contract or freelance support to develop engaging, visually dynamic curriculum. Work would involve close collaboration with members of the FTI education team to develop new and creative ways to teach K-16 students. Projects might include designing modular courses, introducing new assignments, and aiding in general curriculum development. Designers should be based in the U.S. and passionate about both science communication and education. Candidates should have experience in curriculum development, graphic design, instructional design, or other relevant fields. Designers must produce high-quality deliverables and enjoy working collaboratively across disciplines. Duties may include but are not limited to: Brainstorming new and different ways to creatively teach students STEM concepts; Design interactive or video-based modules and courses; Develop and update curriculum content for a variety of emerging technology education programs, including preparation or design of slides, Colab notebooks, assignments and problem sets; Collaborate with industry and academia partners on developing new curriculum content or programs. Required skills / experience:
Required: Significant experience in curriculum development, graphic design, instructional design, or a related field.
Preferred: Experience with curriculum development, including slide creation or modification, development of engaging instructional exercises, etc.
Preferred: Experience with web design, graphic design, UX design, or animation. Passion for science communication, innovation, and educational access. Ability to think creatively, communicate effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
