General Clerk III Mailroom

What you will do: Process all incoming and outgoing detainee correspondence, prepare forms and maintain records and files related to detainee correspondence. Sort, open, inspect and scan detainee correspondence. Maintain related records. Deliver detainee mail. Act as authorized courier for receipt of registered, special delivery or other mails received for employees and/or detainees. Sort departmental mail. Provide information and responses to inquiries regarding routine mailroom procedures. Maintain contact with US Postal Service personnel and private mail carriers (i.e., UPS, Federal Express, etc.).Operate postal equipment and ascertain postage needed. Assist in preparing various forms related to the processing of detainee correspondence and mailroom functions. Deliver outgoing mail each afternoon to the post office. Requires regular pushing and pulling of mail carts.

What you will need: High school diploma or GED, and computer proficiency requiredUS Citizenship or Lawful US Permanent Resident required. One (1) year of previous experience dealing with mail or in a mailroom setting highly desired. Must successfully complete preservice training.
