Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Safety, Compliance, and Housekeeping Follow all operating procedures, rules, and instructions to ensure safe work practices; maintain full understanding of all relevant procedures. Participate in 5S and SFTI initiatives within the Manufacturing department. Maintain an audit ready manufacturing area and control systems, ensuring documentation is current and the environment is clean and organized. Report personal injuries, near misses, and accidents—regardless of severity—to the supervisor and in WSO.Perform all work in compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in accordance with 21 CFR 210 & 211.Operations and Equipment Management Operate reactors, distillation columns, filters, and molecular sieves. Read meters, gauges, and automatic recording devices at prescribed intervals to verify operating conditions. Operate and control electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate chemical flow. Handle highly hazardous chemicals in drums, totes, trucks, cylinders, or bulk tanks. Adjust manual controls or override automatic controls (as directed) to maintain proper operating ranges, switch to backup systems, or shut down equipment. Visually inspect equipment periodically to identify malfunctions, repair needs, adjustments, or lubrication requirements. Adjust the pH of discharged water as required. Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Chemical Production Operator or similar equipment operator job. Strong Mechanical skills such as troubleshooting and minor repairs. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working with Highly Hazardous Chemicals (HHCs).Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence clearly and accurately. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SAP is highly preferred. Basic math skills required.
