Salary Range: $45,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually The mission of Blackstone Valley Prep is to prepare every scholar to achieve their goals for college and the world beyond. About the Role: The Art Teacher plays a pivotal role in fostering creativity and artistic expression among students by delivering comprehensive art education that nurtures both technical skills and imaginative thinking. This position involves designing and implementing engaging lesson plans that align with educational standards while accommodating diverse learning styles and abilities. The Art Teacher will cultivate a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages experimentation, critical thinking, and appreciation for various art forms and cultural perspectives. By assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback, the teacher helps students develop confidence and proficiency in their artistic endeavors. Ultimately, this role contributes to the holistic development of students by integrating art education into their broader academic and personal growth.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field. Valid teaching certification or licensure for the relevant educational level. Demonstrated experience in teaching art to children or adolescents. Strong knowledge of various art techniques, materials, and art history. Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Art Education or Fine Arts. Experience integrating technology and digital media into art instruction. Familiarity with diverse cultural art traditions and inclusive teaching practices. Previous experience working in a collaborative educational environment. Professional involvement in the arts community, such as exhibitions or workshops.
Responsibilities: Develop and deliver structured art lessons that cover a range of mediums including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art. Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and creativity. Assess and evaluate student artwork and progress, providing individualized feedback and support to foster improvement. Organize and manage art supplies and classroom resources to ensure a safe and efficient learning environment. Collaborate with other educators and participate in school events to promote the arts within the wider school community.
Skills: The Art Teacher utilizes strong instructional skills to design and deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum standards while inspiring creativity.
