Position Highlights: Provide independent cardiac anesthesiology services for complex cardiac surgical and procedural casesParticipate in weekday, weekend, and holiday coverage as requiredOn-call coverage: Approximately 1,872 hours/yearCall-back coverage: Approximately 416 hours/yearCollaborate closely with cardiac surgeons, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary care teamsDocument anesthesia services in the VA electronic health recordComplete required VA/VHA training and comply with applicable VA policies and standardsMandatory QualificationsMD or DOCompletion of an accredited Anesthesiology ResidencyCompletion of a Cardiac Anesthesiology FellowshipBoard Certified or Board Eligible in AnesthesiologyCardiac Anesthesiology specializationActive medical license in any U.S. state or territoryCurrent BLS/ACLS certificationCurrent TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography) certification/credential — MANDATORYDemonstrated experience independently managing complex cardiac anesthesia casesAbility to provide scheduled on-call and call-back coverageCompletion of VA credentialing and privileging requirements prior to startKey Clinical SkillsComplex cardiac surgical anesthesiaAdvanced hemodynamic monitoringTransesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) Cardiac output monitoringIndependent perioperative management of high-acuity cardiac patientsStrong multidisciplinary collaborationWe are seeking an experienced Cardiac Anesthesiologist to provide specialized cardiac anesthesia services at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center (RMR VAMC).
