Job description: Med Ninjas is seeking a Vascular Surgeon for long term locum tenens coverage at an inpatient facility located in Portsmouth, VA. The Physician must be available for the complete coverage block from March 1, 2027 to ongoing coverage as needed. This assignment includes inpatient hospital coverage, daily vascular surgery coverage, bread-and-butter vascular procedures and dialysis access, and 24-hour call including night and weekend call. Locum Tenens Vascular Surgeon Portsmouth, VA.
Shift: Mon-Fri 8:30 AM-4:30 PM Daily; Mon-Sun 24-hour call; Mon-Fri 4:30 PM-8:30 AM night call; weekend call Fri-Mon 4:30 PM-8:30 AM
Start Date: March 1, 2027
End Date: Ongoing / As needed
Position Details
Patient Population: Adult 20%; Geriatric 80%
Setting: Inpatient/Hospital-Based
Responsibilities:
  • Daily vascular surgery coverage, night call, weekend call, and hospital coverage
  • Required Procedures: Standard bread-and-butter vascular procedures, dialysis access and local vascular procedures
  • EMR System: Epic
On-Call/Weekends: Yes 24-hour call, night call and weekend call; beeper/phone call; average callback 3 hours Required Procedures and Skills Standard bread-and-butter vascular surgery Dialysis access Local vascular procedures Inpatient vascular surgery coverage Night and weekend call coverage
Requirements:
  • Board Certified in Vascular Surgery
  • Active Virginia license
  • Vascular Surgery fellowship required
  • Active DEA required
