Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Electromechanical Field Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated industrial equipment at customer facilities throughout the Southeast. This is a hands-on traveling service position requiring both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. The ideal candidate has experience diagnosing industrial machinery involving electrical circuits, motors, sensors, mechanical components, and industrial controls. Experience with PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, circuit boards, and automation systems is highly desirable but not required for a candidate with strong electromechanical troubleshooting ability. This position requires approximately 80% overnight travel. Travel time to customer jobs is compensated, overtime is available, hotels are company-paid, and technicians receive meal per diem while traveling. Responsibilities:
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated industrial equipment Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and industrial control system problems Troubleshoot motors, sensors, switches, electrical circuits, and mechanical components Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and related automation equipment when applicable Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation Use multimeters and other diagnostic equipment to identify electrical faults Perform mechanical repairs, adjustments, equipment installation, and component replacement Complete preventive maintenance and emergency service calls Install industrial guarding, safety equipment, and related components as needed Document troubleshooting findings, repairs, parts used, and completed service work Maintain company tools, parts inventory, equipment, and service vehicle Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment problems and repairs Work independently at customer facilities while coordinating with the internal service team Qualifications 2+ years of electromechanical troubleshooting, industrial maintenance, equipment repair, or field service experience Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair skills Electrical troubleshooting experience Ability to use a digital multimeter and other electrical diagnostic tools Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams Experience diagnosing equipment failures and determining root causes Comfortable using hand and power tools Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Professional communication and customer-facing skills Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Willing and able to travel approximately 80% overnight Ability to accommodate changing customer schedules and occasional emergency service needs
Preferred Experience:
Candidates with experience in industrial maintenance, field service, automation, material handling equipment, manufacturing equipment, PLC troubleshooting, VFDs, motor controls, sensors, circuit boards, industrial electrical systems, or automated machinery are strongly encouraged to apply. Travel & Location This position is based out of Marietta, GA. The company service vehicle is dispatched from the Marietta headquarters, so candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance and be able to report to the facility as required. Approximately 80% overnight travel is expected throughout the Southeast. Some customer facilities maintain enhanced safety and security requirements. Candidates must be able to successfully complete required background and drug screening and meet applicable customer-site access requirements.
