Description: While this position is remote, candidates must reside in Houstonor the Greater Houston area to be eligible for consideration, inaccordance with university policy. Designs, plans and conducts institutional research to supportthe strategic decision making of senior administration and helpsadvance university goals through careful design and implementationof studies to answer empirical policy and planning questions. Applies advanced knowledge and expertise in the design andstatistical analysis involved in conducting research studies in thedepartment of Institutional Research. Analyzes data using various statistical and other softwareprograms to provide statistical and summary reports for strategicplanning and program development. Conducts research and studies on the institution, includingdesign of studies, data collection, analysis, and reporting. Analyses data using appropriate statistical models and assistsstakeholders in the interpretations of the data. Provides data to senior administration and consults with keyconstituents' system-wide regarding appropriate research design, methodology, sampling, and evaluation protocol. Responds to ad-hoc information requests. Consults and provides guidance on design, data collection, analyzing and reporting research studies. Coordinates with faculty and researchers on special reports, projects and analyses as requested. Serves as project lead on the design and analysis of complexdata sets used to address research questions relevant to institutionall planning decisions. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. MQ: Requires application of advanced principles, techniques andtheory in a professional discipline or a thorough general businessmanagement knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtainedthrough a directly job-related Master's degree or equivalent formaltraining in a recognized field of specialization that is directlyrelated to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum offive (5) years of directly job-related experience. - Department is willing to accept experience in lieu ofeducation. FULLY REMOTE (Houston Area). Preferred Qualifications: - Higher Education experience. - Ability to take initiative, problem solve, exercise excellentjudgment, demonstrate critical thinking skills and adapt toshifting priorities in diverse settings. - Ability to clearly interpret and implement policies andprocedures. - Ability to prioritize and multi-task. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Proficiency statistical software (e.g. SPSS, SAS, R, Stata). Experience with Tableau visualization or Power Bi plus but notrequired. Experience using Peoplesoft is a plus but not required.
