Resource Planner - Oahu The P IP Generation Planning Department of the P Generation Division at Hawaiian Electric Company has two management vacancies available. The role involves researching, planning, scheduling, monitoring, and coordinating work and materials to integrate and manage maintenance, operations, and capital project activities optimizing utilization of power supply resources. Essential functions include developing workscopes, planning work, coordinating maintenance crafts, operations, and contractors, evaluating work progress, performing daily field inspections, coordinating overhaul and project meetings, identifying operations and maintenance needs, creating work orders to track costs, preparing reports on resource needs and availability, establishing benchmarks, promoting teamwork, supporting two-way communication, and participating in company emergency response activities. Basic qualifications include working knowledge of engineering principles, power plant practices, project management, reading blueprints, preparing material takeoff lists, application knowledge of maintenance work order programs, understanding of warehouse operations, familiarity with regulations, working knowledge of personal computers and software applications, and budgeting and forecasting process. Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills, job planning skills, effective communication, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities are also required. Experience requirements include an engineering degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil disciplines with several years of experience in maintenance or operations of power plants; or graduate of a trade school with multiple years of experience in maintenance and overhauling of power plant equipment; or extensive years of experience in maintenance and overhauling of power plant equipment; some of that experience preferably at the working foreman level or supervisory level experience. Few years of experience in project management is desirable.
