High School Diploma or GED requiredHS Diploma/GED must be verified prior to submission Minimum 1 year of related experience Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Basic computer skills Ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals and staff The Supply Assistant is responsible for procuring, maintaining, and delivering supplies needed for surgical cases in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The role supports Surgery, Sterile Processing, Instrumentation Systems, and Supply & Distribution teams. Request, receive, locate, and deliver supplies needed for surgical cases. Communicate effectively with Surgery, Instrumentation Systems, and Supply & Distribution personnel. Order, restock, and maintain surgery and anesthesia inventory using handheld devices. Maintain prescribed inventory PAR levels on supply carts and carousel systems. Monitor the case cart and supply process for each surgical case. Check case carts against preference cards to ensure all required supplies are available. Identify missing items, order replacements, and place items on the case cart before the procedure. Notify the circulator or clinical supervisor of missing supplies when necessary. Clean supply carts and bins according to the assigned schedule. Coordinate the return of unused supplies and instrumentation. Remove unused or overstocked supplies from alcoves and carts. Return supplies to the appropriate storage locations according to PAR levels. Rotate stock when replenishing or returning supplies. Inform staff of any breaks in aseptic technique related to packaging or handling. Operate carousel systems, handheld computers, personal computers, and inventory management tools. Support unit and hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities. Attend mandatory in-services and meet unit educational requirements. Follow established care standards, policies, procedures, and unit requirements. Perform other duties as assigned by the Surgical Services Resources Manager. Uses independent judgment for minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies and procedures have been established. Works with internal customers through telephone and face-to-face communication. Communicates with external customers by telephone and face-to-face interaction. Collaborates with healthcare professionals and other hospital staff.
