Estimator / Project ManagerFull-Time | Glenmont, OH (field travel required within service area Position Summay Grassbaugh LLC is seeking an Estimator/Project Manager to support our heavy civil and bridge construction operations. This role bridges the office and the field: you'll price and pursue public-sector work — ODOT, LPA, county, and municipal bridge and roadway projects — and then carry awarded projects through to completion. You'll work directly with ownership and field crews across every phase of a job, from bid to closeot. Key Responsibiliies Estimating & Biding
  • Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to develop accurate, competitive bids for ODOT, LPA, county, and municipa work
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, drainage, concrete, structures, and pavin items
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes; build bid packages and compariso sheets
  • Track and price against ODOT historical bid tabs and unit-pice data
  • Assemble and submit bid proposals, including bonding and prequalification documentation, ahead of lettingdeadlines
  • Use HCSS HeavyBid to prepare estimates then review estimate with upervisor.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site wals as needed
Projet Management
  • Serve as day-to-day project lead on awarded jobs, from notice-to-proceed through inal closeout
  • Develop project schedules, staffing plans, and material procurment timelines
  • Coordinate with ODOT, county engineers, municipal inspectors, and other project owners on progress, submttals, and RFIs
  • Manage shop drawing submittals and coordinate approvals with engineering frms and agencies
  • Manage material delivery tickets, DSRs Certifications.
  • Track project costs against budget; monitor productivity and lag overruns early
  • Direct field crews and subcontractors on sequencing, means and methods, and qualiy/safety compliance
  • Order and schedule material deliveries to kep crews on schedule
  • Prepare and process pay applications, change orders, andproject documentation
  • Ensure compliance with ODOT specifications, prevailing wage requirements, and project-specific safet and qulity standards
General
  • Maintain organized project files, correspondence, and documentatin across all active jobs
  • Communicate regularly with ownership on project status risks, and opportunities
  • Support other estimating, contracting, o field needs a they arise
Qualifications:
  • Experience in heavy civil, bridge, or public infrastructure construction — estimating project management, or both
  • Working knowledge of ODOT specifications and public-bi processes strongly preferred
  • Ability to read and ake off civil/structural plans
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort managing ultiple active projects at once
  • Proficiency with estimating and project management software (e.g, HCSS HeavyBid/HeavyJob) a plus
  • Valid driver's license; ability to travel to proect sites within the service area
  • Clear communicator, comfortable working directly with agency staff, enginees, subcontractors, and ield crews
