Certified Surgical Tech (CST)
Position Overview:
- As a Certified Surgical Tech (CST) in the Operating Room (OR), you will be an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, contributing your professional and clinical expertise to ensure the provision and management of care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
- Shift Details
- Typical start time: 6:15 AM (may vary based on caseload)
Schedule: 5 days a week (8-hour shifts), 40 hours guaranteed
On-call requirements: 8-10 days in a 6-week period after your shift from Monday to Friday Weekend requirements: 4-5 weekend shifts (Friday to Sunday) per month Availability for holidays as needed
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in surgical procedures and maintain a safe and sterile environment for operations.
Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments to ensure readiness for procedures.
Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to deliver high-quality patient care.
Monitor and assist in the care of patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Document patient information and maintain accurate records in the electronic medical record system (EPIC).
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Tech.
- Proficient in the use of Epic electronic medical record system.
- Must hold a valid IA Mandatory Reporter certification.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the following areas:
- Spine Surgery
- OrthopedicsGeneral Surgery
- Robotic Surgery
- Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT)
Gynecology
Prior travel experience in the operating room setting is preferred.
Certification Requirements:
Must possess current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Must possess current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Active certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
Additional Information:
- This position may require travel between multiple locations within the region. Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this role.
