DDL Group is hiring a Site Superintendent to run day-to-day field operations on federal construction work in the Knoxville, Tennessee area. You will be the person on site who keeps the job safe, on schedule, and built to spec. Run daily site operations, directing subcontractors and trades to meet the project schedule and contract drawings. Enforce the site safety program, including the Accident Prevention Plan, Activity Hazard Analyses, and daily toolbox talks. Write and submit accurate daily reports, logging manpower, equipment, work completed, weather, delays, and inspections. Coordinate inspections, preparatory and follow-up quality control meetings, and punch-list closeout with government representatives. Track look-ahead schedules with the project scheduler and flag delays, conflicts, or changed conditions before they become claims. Verify that materials delivered and installed match approved submittals. Manage site logistics, including access, deliveries, storage, and cleanup on secured federal installations.
What We're Looking For:
Required At least 3 years of experience as a construction superintendent or assistant superintendent on commercial, institutional, or government projects. OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification, or willingness to complete it within 30 days of hire. Experience directing multiple subcontractor trades on an active job site. Experience reading construction drawings and specifications and checking work against them. Ability to pass a background check and obtain access to federal and military installations. Valid driver's license. Preferred Experience on USACE, Air Force, or other federal contracts. USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors certification. Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1 safety requirements. First Aid/CPR certification. Experience with renovation, demolition, or occupied-facility work.
