The Brook – KMI is a 110-bed hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient, extended care, residential, partial hospitalization and outpatient services for children, adolescents, and adults.
About the Role:
An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Therapist in Kentucky provides mental health and/or substance use treatment to patients who require more structured care than standard outpatient services but do not need full-time inpatient hospitalization. These roles are common in behavioral health, addiction recovery, and mental health clinics. This role involves providing structured mental health and substance use treatment to patients in an intensive outpatient setting.
Responsibilities:
Assessment & Planning: Conduct thorough mental health or substance use assessments to identify needs, strengths, and treatment goals. Treatment Delivery: Deliver individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based practices such as CBT, play therapy, behavioral therapy, and trauma-informed approaches. Group Leadership: Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions, develop or improve session materials, and adapt content to patient needs. Family Engagement: Provide psychoeducation, case management, and support strategies to families to enhance treatment outcomes. Documentation: Maintain accurate, compliant clinical records in line with HIPAA and facility policies. Crisis Intervention: Manage acute behavioral or emotional episodes effectively. Collaboration: Work with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure continuity. Discharge Planning: Assist with post-treatment planning, including FMLA, disability, and housing needs.
Qualifications
Education:
Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field from an accredited university. Licensure: Active state license (e.g., CSW, LPCA, LCADC, or equivalent).
Experience:
Minimum 2 years in a clinical role, preferably in IOP or substance use treatment.
Required Skills:
Proficiency with electronic health records, Microsoft Office, and documentation standards.
Preferred Skills:
