License: Active North Dakota medical license
Fellowship: Preferred
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required
Patient Population: Pediatrics and Newborn Nursery
Average Census: Approximately 11 patients Typical Admissions: 1 3 per shift Call Details: Backup call with approximately 2 phone consults per 24 hours1 2 callbacks/admissions when needed Callback rate under 10%20-minute response time
Position Overview: An established pediatric hospitalist service is seeking a Locum Tenens Pediatric Hospitalist for ongoing inpatient coverage. The role includes daytime rounding, newborn nursery coverage, overnight backup call, and collaboration with an experienced clinical team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide inpatient pediatric hospitalist coverage
  • Manage assigned pediatric and newborn patients
  • Cover Level I and Level II nursery patients
  • Attend high-risk deliveries and C-sections as needed
  • Respond to overnight backup call
  • Collaborate with PA/NP support and hospital staff
Required Skills:

  • Pediatric airway and ventilation management
  • Non-invasive ventilation (CPAP/BiPAP)
  • Pediatric intubation

  • Central line placement
  • Additional Notes:
  • Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Hospitalist experience required.
  • New graduates will not be considered.
  • Overnight call is primarily supported by an APRN/PA, with physician backup as needed.
  • Travel and lodging support available.
