Child Life Specialist IThe Child Life Specialist I provides comprehensive child life services to any and all areas of the Child Life and Creative Arts Therapy Department. Specific needs are determined by the child life director and leadership team who work directly with the child life specialist to devise a monthly schedule to meet department needs. Day to day schedule and responsibilities may vary depending upon the assignment.
Responsibilities include: Providing comprehensive child life services for PICU, P4, P5, PCICU, ZONE, NICU, ED and outpatient areas as needed. Functioning as a key member of the healthcare team, communicating all relevant developmental and psychosocial information to other team members via charting, participation in team meetings, etc. Responding immediately to all formal and informal consults submitted. Making all appropriate patient and family referrals for specialty programming. Participating in planning and implementation of special events and programming. Providing supervision to volunteers and child life interns. Maintaining professional development and competency. Participating in individual and clinical group supervision
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Child Development or related field. Masters degree preferred 1 year of experience with knowledge of infant, child, and adolescent growth and development preferred. Must have completed a 600 hour professional child life internship. Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) within one year of the date of hire

Compensation: The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58661 - $69500 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
