Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist Ampersand Therapy is hiring an itinerant Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Specialist for the 20262027 school year in the Seattle WA area. Schedule: Full time, approximately 8:00 AM3:30 PM
Maximum Hours: Up to 40 hours per week Dates: August 27, 2026 June 19, 2027 Grade Levels: All grade levels
Responsibilities: Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing Assess students' communication, language, academic, and accessibility needs Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs Adapt curriculum and classroom materials to support student access Consult with general education teachers and school teams regarding accommodations Support the use of hearing technology, assistive devices, and communication systems Collaborate with families, interpreters, audiologists, and related service providers Maintain accurate progress notes, service records, and educational documentation Travel between assigned school sites as needed
Qualifications: Valid state teaching credential with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement Bachelor's or master's degree in deaf education, special education, or a related field Experience supporting students across multiple grade levels preferred Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills Ability to travel between school sites
