What You'll Do: As a Pre-Litigation Employment Attorney, you will manage California employment matters from initial legal evaluation through pre-litigation resolution. You will: Evaluate potential employment claims and develop case strategy. Represent employees in matters involving wrongful termination, retaliation, discrimination, harassment, wage-and-hour violations, and other workplace disputes. Review employment records, personnel files, policies, communications, and other evidence relevant to each client's claims. Identify potential causes of action and assess damages and settlement value. Prepare and oversee demand letters and pre-litigation settlement packages. Communicate and negotiate directly with employers, defense counsel, and insurance representatives. Develop negotiation strategies designed to maximize outcomes for clients. Counsel clients regarding their claims, expectations, settlement opportunities, risks, and next steps. Maintain consistent and compassionate communication with clients throughout their case. Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations when appropriate. Work closely with paralegals, case managers, intake professionals, and firm leadership to move cases efficiently toward resolution. Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure important deadlines and follow-ups are completed. Recognize matters that may require litigation and assist with the transition when appropriate. Who We're Looking For We are looking for an attorney who combinesstrong legal judgment with genuine empathy for employees .The ideal candidate: Is an active member in good standing of the California State Bar .Has experience in California employment law; plaintiff-side experience is an asset. Understands California wrongful termination, retaliation, discrimination, harassment, and wage-and-hour laws. Is a confident negotiator who knows how to advocate aggressively while remaining professional and strategic. Can evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, and potential value of a case. Is comfortable managing multiple active matters and moving cases forward proactively. Communicates clearly with clients and can explain complicated legal issues in practical, understandable terms. Understands that for our clients, their case isn't simply another file—it may represent their livelihood, reputation, financial security, and ability to move forward.
