Back End Developer/Engineer - Remote

New York City (4 days onsite) Up to $325k base + equity We're working with a fast-growing fintech infrastructure startup building the technology that enables seamless money movement between traditional finance and crypto. They're looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to take technical ownership of core infrastructure powering payments, settlement and transaction routing across multiple blockchains and payment providers. This is a hands-on senior IC role with significant influence over architecture, technical direction and engineering standards. Architecting and building high-performance, low-latency backend systems Solving complex engineering challenges around transaction routing, settlement, security and reliability Driving technical decisions and setting engineering standards across the backend Working closely with product and engineering teams to design and deliver new infrastructure Extensive experience building and scaling production backend systems Strong TypeScript proficiency Deep understanding of distributed systems, API design, databases and cloud infrastructure Proven experience owning complex technical architecture and driving engineering decisions Strong track record of delivering reliable, high-performance systems at scale Bonus points for experience with payments infrastructure, financial systems, blockchain integrations or event-driven architectures. Crypto experience is not essential, but experience building complex, high-availability infrastructure is.
