PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Dynamics 365 Technical Architect on a Direct Hire basis. This role can be based remotely anywhere in the United States, ideally near the Los Angeles, Dallas, Philadelphia, or NYC markets.
Summary: We are seeking a hands-on D365 Technical Architect Lead to drive the technical architecture, development, and modernization of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) within a complex enterprise environment. This role will establish scalable development standards, lead ERP consolidation initiatives, and oversee integrations, automation, and technical delivery while prioritizing standard D365 functionality over unnecessary customization. The position offers remote flexibility with approximately 10-20% travel and the opportunity to mentor internal developers while collaborating with business stakeholders and external consulting teams.
Responsibilities: Lead the technical architecture, development, and modernization of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O, including consolidation of multiple ERP environments and legacy Dynamics AX systems into a scalable enterprise platform. Design, develop, test, and deploy custom X++ code, extensions, workflows, forms, data entities, reports, and batch processes while prioritizing standard D365 functionality over custom development. Establish technical architecture standards, development policies, coding practices, solution design reviews, and documentation processes to ensure consistent, maintainable solutions. Lead integrations between D365 F&O and external applications using OData, custom services, Data Management Framework (DMF), Microsoft Fabric, APIs, middleware, and Azure integration services, including Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Service Bus. Manage D365 development and release processes through Azure DevOps, Git, Visual Studio, and Lifecycle Services (LCS), including automated builds, testing, environment promotion, deployment, and rollback procedures. Evaluate, implement, and maintain third-party ISV solutions, including ExFlow, SKSoft, and Kofax, ensuring compatibility, performance, and reliability through platform upgrades. Partner with Finance, Procurement, IT, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions, evaluate design alternatives, and support long-term ERP strategy. Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and emerging technologies to streamline business processes, reduce technical debt, and improve development efficiency. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to internal developers and external consulting teams while maintaining comprehensive solution documentation, development standards, and business continuity procedures.
Required Skills: 7-10+ years of hands-on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) or Dynamics AX development experience, including deep expertise in X++ and the D365 extension model. Proven experience leading technical architecture and development initiatives, including mentoring developers and coordinating onshore, offshore, or blended development teams. Strong proficiency with D365 F&O development tools, including Visual Studio, Lifecycle Services (LCS), Azure DevOps, Git, build pipelines, and release management. Experience designing enterprise integrations using OData, DMF, custom services, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus, and related API or middleware technologies. Deep understanding of D365 F&O architecture, data models, security frameworks, application lifecycle management, environment governance, and technical solution design. Experience implementing and maintaining D365 ISV modules, managing version upgrades, and ensuring compatibility with custom integrations and extensions. Demonstrated ability to establish technical standards, document solution designs, minimize unnecessary customization, and build scalable, maintainable enterprise applications. Experience with ERP consolidation or legacy Dynamics AX modernization, along with exposure to ExFlow, SKSoft, Kofax, OCR, Treasury automation, or AI-driven process automation, is preferred. Ability to travel up to 20% of the time. H1 sponsorship is not available.
