Rigger (45 J2-J4)

Responsibilities: Move and stage equipment and materials. Align, block, and brace equipment and large items. Secure and tie down items for transportation. Perform general labor duties. Assist other trades personnel in equipment and material needs. Essential Skills 2-5 years of recent rigging experience depending on J level (J2, J3, or J4).Preferably Rigger 1 Certification and Crane Signalman Certification. Ability to follow work orders and use hand tools. Mechanically inclined.

Work Environment: The work environment is primarily in a shipyard and outdoor setting. You will support work at various locations, including Nassco, BAE, MHI, and Naval. Shifts are 1st (7 AM - 3:30 PM) and, when needed, 2nd shift (3 PM - 11 PM). Must be able to work weekends, usually Saturdays, with the potential for overtime (2 hours before and after the shift). Average work hours are 40-55 hours per week, depending on workload. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, VA.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
