Apply for this role →Film Analyst | Independent Contractor Momentiv Media, LLCRemote | Independent Contractor | Project-Based Momentiv Media is looking to add several reliable Film Analyst Contractors to our team for the upcoming fall sports season. Our Film Analysts review game footage, identify key player and team moments, and create detailed timestamped highlight sheets that our post-production team uses to build athlete and team content. This is a highly independent, project-based role. We are specifically looking for people who are organized, detail-oriented, self-sufficient, and comfortable managing multiple projects each week without constant supervision.
About the Role:
As a Film Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing assigned sports footage from beginning to end and accurately documenting important plays. Projects may include individual athlete highlights, team highlights, or full-game analysis.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Reviewing game footage thoroughly and accurately• Identifying individual athletes using team rosters, jersey numbers, uniforms, and game footage• Identifying offensive and defensive highlights• Recording accurate timestamps and play classifications• Creating organized highlight sheets for our editing team• Following Momentiv Media's Film Analyst SOP and documentation standards• Managing multiple projects and deadlines during high-volume event weeks• Reviewing your own work for accuracy and completeness before submission• Communicating promptly if you identify missing footage, roster discrepancies, or other project issues This Is an Independent Role This is important: Film Analysts work independently. You will receive project information, access to footage, our analysis standards, and the resources needed to complete your assignments. Support is available when you genuinely need assistance, but this is not a role with continuous oversight or step-by-step management. We are looking for contractors who can receive an assignment, understand the requirements, organize their workload, solve routine issues independently, and deliver accurate work on time. You may be a strong fit if you:• Are naturally self-sufficient and resourceful• Have excellent time-management skills• Can organize and manage multiple projects at once• Pay close attention to small details• Can follow established processes consistently• Are comfortable working independently for extended periods• Can meet deadlines without repeated reminders or follow-up• Take ownership of the accuracy and completeness of your work If you require frequent supervision, reminders, or hands-on direction to complete projects, this role will likely not be a good fit. Workload & Availability This is a project-based independent contractor position, not a guaranteed hourly schedule. Work is assigned based on Momentiv Media's current project volume and needs. During active sports seasons, contractors should be prepared to take on multiple projects per week. Available projects are offered to contractors based on current needs and availability. Work volume may fluctuate throughout the season and is not guaranteed. Compensation Compensation is based on completed game analysis: Games 35 minutes or less:$25 per 5 games analyzed Games longer than 35 minutes:$50 per 5 games analyzed Payment is processed after each completed set of five games and submission of the corresponding completed highlight documentation. This is an independent contractor engagement. Contractors are responsible for their own applicable federal, state, Social Security, Medicare, and other tax obligations. A completed W-9 is required before beginning paid projects. Candidate Assessment Required All candidates must successfully complete a Film Analyst skills assessment before they can be considered for an offer. Candidates selected to move forward in the application process will receive sample game footage, a roster, Momentiv Media's Film Analyst SOP, and instructions for completing a test analysis. The assessment evaluates:• Player identification• Highlight recognition• Timestamp accuracy• Offensive and defensive play recognition• Attention to detail• Organization• Ability to follow our SOP• Completeness and overall accuracy Completion of the assessment does not guarantee an offer. Candidates must meet Momentiv Media's required assessment standard to be selected for the contractor role.
Qualifications
Required:
• Strong attention to detail• Excellent organization and time-management skills• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines• Reliable internet access and computer access• Ability to work with Google Drive and Google Sheets• Ability to review sports footage for extended periods• Strong written communication skills• Ability to follow detailed instructions and established procedures
Preferred:
• Familiarity with basketball and common basketball terminology• Previous sports, film, video, analytics, or statistics experience• Experience identifying players and plays from game footage• Experience working independently in a remote or project-based environment Previous professional film analysis experience is not required if you can demonstrate the necessary sports knowledge, accuracy, and attention to detail during the candidate assessment. Contractor Relationship This opportunity is for an independent contractor, not an employee of Momentiv Media. Contractors determine whether to accept available projects and are responsible for independently managing accepted assignments in accordance with agreed project requirements and deadlines. Because our workload is tied to sports events and client demand, the amount of available work may vary from week to week.
What We're Looking For:
Our strongest Film Analysts are the people we can trust to take ownership of a project once it is assigned. They watch carefully. They stay organized. They catch the plays others might miss. They double-check their work. And they do not need someone looking over their shoulder to make sure the job gets done. If that describes how you work, we'd like to hear from you.
