Typesetter

Responsibilities: Set and arrange text and images according to design specifications using typesetting software Check for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors Ensure consistency in font styles, sizes, and line spacing throughout the publication Collaborate with editors and graphic designers to ensure the layout meets the publication’s standards Make necessary adjustments to text and images to fit designated spaces or pages Create digital proofs for review by editors and make necessary revisions based on feedback Meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality control

Requirements: Proven work experience as a Typesetter or similar role Excellent knowledge of typesetting software such as Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress Strong eye for detail and ability to spot errors quickly Familiarity with typography principles and design elements Experience working with complex layouts for various types of publications (books, magazines, newspapers) Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy Good communication skills to collaborate with team members from different departments

Preferred qualifications: (not required) Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field Experience with digital publishing platforms such as Kindle Direct Publishing or Ingram Spark

Salary: $1400/month (negotiable based on experience)
