Industry: Ethanol / Process Manufacturing Know how to keep a process plant safe, compliant, and operating without becoming the person everyone suddenly avoids when you walk onto the production floor? We’re hiring an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead safety and environmental programs at a large industrial ethanol production facility in Boardman. This is a true process-manufacturing environment involving grain handling, fermentation, distillation, process equipment, utilities, and plant operations, along with an adjacent operation that captures CO2 from the ethanol process and converts it into liquid CO2.Because of the complexity of the operation, direct ethanol plant experience is required.

What You’ll Do: Lead environmental, health, safety, and regulatory compliance programs across the facility Partner directly with plant leadership, operations, maintenance, and engineering Manage and strengthen Process Safety Management (PSM) programs Support Management of Change (MOC), process hazard analyses, HAZOPs, and operating procedures Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and prevention efforts Maintain compliance with OSHA and other applicable federal, state, and local requirements Oversee environmental compliance related to air, water, waste, chemicals, and plant operations Manage safety training, inspections, audits, reporting, and documentation Coach supervisors and employees on safe work practices and regulatory expectations Track EHS metrics, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement Support emergency response planning and plant preparedness Help make safety part of how the plant operates every day, not simply something discussed during the monthly meeting

What We’re Looking For: Direct EHS experience within an ethanol production facility is required Strong experience in industrial or chemical process manufacturing Hands-on knowledge of PSM, OSHA, MOC, HAZOP/process hazard analysis, and incident investigation Environmental compliance experience involving air permitting, wastewater, waste management, or related programs Experience supporting production environments involving fermentation, distillation, process equipment, and plant utilities Strong understanding of occupational safety, industrial hygiene, and regulatory compliance Experience leading audits, training, investigations, corrective actions, and continuous-improvement initiatives Ability to work directly with plant operators, maintenance teams, engineers, and senior leadership Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline preferred Why You’ll Like It Here This isn’t an EHS role sitting three buildings away reviewing spreadsheets.
