Financial Analyst The Financial Analyst is responsible for overseeing financial accounts and provides financial analysis, planning, and strategic decision support across the organization. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for budgeting, financial reporting and monitoring, and financial analyses. The Financial Analyst also supports the optimization of financial processes and systems while ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive financial Functions Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Budgeting: Assist with the preparation and submission of annual operating and capital budget. Assist in the reconciliation of all department accounts. Financial Reporting: Ensure all revenue and expenditures are accurately recorded and accrued to appropriate cost centers. Provide timely reporting of revenue and expenditures. Review budget variance reports and prepare interdepartmental transfers. Monitor faculty and staff effort and salary source distribution changes. Provide variance analysis and monthly forecasts using financial performance and budget Partnership: Lend technical assistance to department leadership for preparation of the annual budget. Identifies and reports on budget variances. Data Stewardship & Financial Integrity: Maintain the integrity or sensitive financial datasets. Process and analyze confidential data with absolute discretion.
Competencies: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required):Experience in budget preparation, analysis and forecasting. Good communication skills, exercise initiative, judgment and problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain confidential/sensitive and assumes other duties or special projects as assigned or directed. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or Business :3+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, with a proven track record of handling increase responsibility.
