The role:
You will be the senior acquisition professional supporting contract management operations at a military medical facility in Bethesda, MD, working alongside government contracting staff in a fast-moving logistics and health care contracting environment. Your work directly supports the facilities that care for service members and their families.
What you'll do:
Support all phases of the acquisition lifecycle: acquisition planning, pre- and post-award documentation, administration, compliance, and closeout under FAR, DFARS, and DoD/DHA policy Perform price and cost analysis, reviewing RFI data against historical spend and established rates to determine price reasonableness Review applicable clauses and provisions for accuracy and compliance Serve as the senior advisor and subject matter expert: provide technical advice and consultation to program managers, CORs, and department leadership Conduct training and educational briefings so staff seeking contracting support understand procedures and policy Lead fact-finding and analysis on complex acquisition problems and turn findings into concrete action plans Deliver monthly reports on all active and outstanding acquisition actions Mentor junior team members and set the quality bar for deliverables
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (or Associate's) including or supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization At least 10 years of specialized federal acquisition experienceDAWIA Contracting Level III certification (graduate education may substitute for experience or certification)Expert knowledge of FAR, DFARS, DoD directives and instructions Demonstrated record of excellence in management or team lead roles across multiple organizations Able to read, write, and speak English fluentlyU.S. citizenship; must be able to obtain and maintain facility access (badge/CAC)You'll stand out if you have: DoD health care or DHA contracting experience, a background as a GS-1102 or military contracting officer, and experience training CORs and requirements owners.
