Director of Service Operations | Commercial HVAC Service💰 Base salary: $130,000–$150,000, based on experience📈 Performance-based incentive opportunity🏥 Medical, dental, and vision insurance💼 401(k) with company match🌴 Paid time off and company holidays📚 Professional and leadership development opportunities We’re looking for an experienced Director of Service Operations to lead a commercial HVAC service business and drive operational performance, customer service, team development, and profitable growth. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who understands commercial HVAC service operations, can lead both field and office teams, and is comfortable owning the financial and operational performance of a service organization. What You’ll Own • Lead day-to-day commercial HVAC service operations • Coach and hold field and administrative leadership accountable for performance • Oversee field operations, dispatch, scheduling, customer communication, purchasing, job closeout, and billing readiness • Manage budgets, forecasts, labor productivity, utilization, overtime, gross margin, backlog, and service agreement profitability • Partner with Service Sales on maintenance agreements, repairs, quoted work, emergency service, and customer commitments • Evaluate staffing, workload, and capacity to align resources with customer demand • Use KPIs and operational data to improve productivity, profitability, and service delivery • Improve scheduling, technician productivity, communication, job closeout, and the customer experience • Help resolve significant customer and operational issues • Develop leaders and build a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and performance
What We’re Looking For:
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial HVAC or mechanical service operations
  • Experience leading both field and office service operations
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC service, preventative maintenance agreements, repairs, scheduling, dispatch, and customer support
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting, P&L performance, labor planning, and operational KPIs
  • Proven ability to lead managers, develop employees, and improve team performance
  • Strong business and financial judgment
  • Excellent customer relationship, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills
  • Commercial mechanical contractor or multi-trade service experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Mechanical Systems, or a related field — or equivalent industry experience
