Backend Quality Assurance Specialist

Salary: $120,000 – $140,000 base + discretionary annual bonusE-Frontiers is partnering with a fast-growing, CFTC-regulated derivatives exchange and clearinghouse in Chicago to hire a Backend QA Specialist. You'll drive quality across the core Exchange, Clearing and Instrument management systems, extending the QA automation framework and building out comprehensive testing for high-performance trading infrastructure.

What you'll do: Extend and maintain a Java-based QA automation framework Design and build manual and automated test cases for high-performance exchange and clearing platforms Rigorously test all interfaces, including FIX protocol, proprietary binary formats and file formats Test admin and customer-facing interfaces using Playwright and manual approaches, covering functionality, data integrity, security compliance and performance Partner with Product and Engineering to define and enforce rigorous quality standards Monitor and report on system performance, data integrity and compliance

What you'll bring: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field 3+ years of QA / software testing experience, ideally in financial services Strong proficiency in Java, Python, FIX and SQLHands-on experience with Cucumber, Playwright and JUnit Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Experience with derivatives or financial markets is a strong plus What's on offer$120,000 – $140,000 base salary plus discretionary annual bonus 401(k) with employer match Health, dental and vision insurance Paid time off and career development support Full-time, in-person hybrid role in Chicago.
