Apply for this role →Historic Preservation PlannerA vacancy exists in the Department of Planning for a Historic Preservation Planner in the Development Review Division. Pay Schedule I, Grade 29, Regular Schedule: 35 hours per week. This is a technical planning position in support of the Department of Planning's Historic Preservation Section. The primary responsibilities will focus on public education and community outreach. The work and responsibilities will include a broad range of topics, such as historic preservation planning, land use and zoning, the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC), historic tax credits, architectural surveying, archival research, and community engagement. A list of eligible applicants will be established based on the examination as outlined below. Current and future vacancies occurring within this class may be filled from the list of eligible applicants. All interested transfer and promotional candidates must apply at this time. Applicants will be evaluated based on their training and experience, as stated in their applications, including their responses to the supplemental questions. Applicants must clearly and completely state the dates and duties of their past and present experience for evaluation purposes. Must attend evening meetings of the Landmarks Preservation Commission. The work of this classification is essentially sedentary. Some positions may require travel between work sites. Applicants selected for an appointment to a position in Baltimore County must successfully complete a physical examination, a drug screen, and an employment background investigation, including, but not limited to, a criminal background check, education verification, and a fingerprint check.
