AVES is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Dermatologist to establish and grow a new Dermatology service within our outpatient facility. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a specialty service and contribute to the success of a dedicated outpatient setting, while having the clinical expertise, infrastructure, and multidisciplinary support of the broader AVES specialty network behind you. You’ll have the autonomy to define and grow the Dermatology service while collaborating with an established team of specialists at the main hospital. With access to advanced diagnostics, surgical capabilities, and a broad range of specialty services, you’ll have meaningful support as you develop the service, establish referral relationships, and help shape the future of the outpatient facility. The selected candidate will receive a service-startup bonus, with the opportunity to step into a Department Head role for those interested in leading the service as it grows. Benefits for this role may include health insurance (medical, dental, vision), retirement benefits, paid time off (including sick leave and vacation), short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance · Sign-on or relocation assistance · Health, dental, and vision insurance · CE allowance and professional development support · Paid time off · Retirement savings options · Employee assistance programs In your day-to-day, you will: · Establish and grow AVES’s Dermatology service within the outpatient facility. · Develop the service’s clinical scope, protocols, workflows, and referral relationships. · Provide comprehensive dermatologic care for a diverse referral caseload. · Collaborate with the broader AVES specialty teams in Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery & Orthopedics, Neurology, Oncology, Anesthesiology, Diagnostic Imaging, and other specialties. · Utilize advanced diagnostics and clinical resources available through the broader AVES hospital network. · Build relationships with referring veterinarians and help expand access to specialty dermatology services. · Contribute to the growth and long-term success of the outpatient facility. · Help define the culture and workflow of a growing specialty service. · Mentor and collaborate with the veterinary team while contributing to a positive, team-focused culture. · Provide compassionate communication and exceptional patient and client care.
What You Bring: · DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure. · Board Certification in Dermatology or Residency Trained in Dermatology. · Strong clinical skills with a passion for advancing dermatologic care. · An entrepreneurial mindset and enthusiasm for establishing and growing a new service. · A collaborative approach and interest in working across hospital settings and specialties. · Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach. · A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine.
