Performance-based bonuses and potential long-term equity incentives. About Octans Capital Group Octans Capital Group is an investment-led financial and industrial group integrating capital markets, strategic investments, asset management, and operating businesses. With a global perspective and strong connectivity across the United States and Asia‑Pacific, Octans combines institutional capital relationships, financial expertise, strategic investments, and operational capabilities to identify opportunities, execute complex transactions, and build enduring enterprises. Our approach extends beyond traditional financial advisory services. We seek to create long‑term value through strategic ownership, capital formation, industry partnerships, and active business building across multiple sectors. Healthcare and life sciences are a key strategic priority. We are developing an integrated biotechnology platform focused on innovative therapeutic assets, strategic acquisitions, licensing, advanced technologies, and global capital markets, with the objective of pursuing a U.S. public listing.
The Opportunity: We are seeking an accomplished and entrepreneurial Managing Director to lead strategic investments, capital partnerships, and corporate development initiatives within our Healthcare & Life Sciences business. The successful candidate will work directly with the Group’s senior leadership and is expected to assume an executive leadership role within our biotechnology platform, subject to formal appointment. This is a highly entrepreneurial, hands‑on leadership position combining institutional investor relationships, strategic negotiations, transaction execution, and business building. We are looking for a dedicated dealmaker and business builder — someone who can originate opportunities, mobilize capital, negotiate transactions, and personally drive execution.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Investments & Capital Partnerships Develop and leverage established relationships with healthcare‑focused hedge funds, crossover investors, private equity firms, institutional investors, and strategic corporate investors. Originate and evaluate biotechnology investment and financing opportunities. Build strategic capital partnerships and support corporate financing initiatives. Lead investment discussions, transaction structuring, and commercial negotiations. Corporate Development & Transactions Identify and pursue biotechnology acquisitions, licensing opportunities, strategic investments, and partnerships. Personally lead negotiations with biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical groups, institutional investors, and other transaction counterparties. Manage transactions from origination and evaluation through due diligence, negotiation, documentation, and closing. Coordinate financial, scientific, legal, and commercial workstreams. Play an active leadership role in building our biotechnology operating platform. Support pipeline expansion, corporate strategy, capital formation, and preparation for the U.S. public markets. Collaborate closely with the CEO and senior management on strategic initiatives. Take direct responsibility for execution, measurable outcomes, and long‑term value creation.
Qualifications: 10+ years of relevant experience in healthcare investing, biotechnology, pharmaceutical business development, investment banking, or corporate development. Established, actionable relationships with institutional buy‑side investors and/or strategic corporate capital providers. Demonstrated track record of originating, negotiating, and successfully completing significant investment, licensing, financing, or M&A transactions. Strong commercial judgment, transaction structuring, and negotiation capabilities. Solid understanding of biotechnology, therapeutic assets, and healthcare capital markets. Proven ability to independently manage complex transactions and deliver results. Entrepreneurial, highly accountable, hands‑on, and willing to make a dedicated, long‑term commitment. Advanced scientific or business degree preferred. Cross‑border investment or transaction experience is a plus. Why Join Octans? Executive leadership opportunity within an ambitious financial and industrial group. Unique exposure to principal investments, capital markets, and biotechnology company building. Opportunity to take on a senior executive position within a biotechnology platform pursuing a U.S. public listing. Direct collaboration with founders and senior decision‑makers. Meaningful responsibility for capital formation, investment strategy, and corporate transactions. Competitive compensation with performance‑based incentives and potential long‑term equity participation. At Octans, we value trusted relationships, sound judgment, entrepreneurial ownership, and real execution over titles and institutional pedigree. We welcome experienced professionals who are ready to build businesses, lead transactions, and create lasting value. All inquiries and applications will be treated confidentially. Octans Capital Group is an equal opportunity employer.
