Apply for this role →Welder JobAs a welder, you are responsible for cutting and joining mild or stainless, and other materials, and equipment operation for assembly of structures.
Essential Functions:
- Participate in all safe start meetings.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Follow 5S standards to maintain work area.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on specifications
- Setup and align components for welding according to specifications
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
- Operate angle grinders and other tools necessary to prepare the surface to be welded.
- Complete pre-operation equipment inspections and report any issues identified.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Experience, Education, & License RequirementsHS Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Related degree from a technical college, a plus 1 year of proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing environment, or internship while attending technical college
Skills & Abilities:
- Steady hands and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Basic welding and metal terminology.
- Endurance and dexterity
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment safely and efficiently
- Ability to exert up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Average proficiency in mathematics
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Ability to read a tape measure
