Meat Cutter – Foodservice Distribution

Cheney Brothers & Affiliates seeks a Meat Preparation team member for 1st shift at our fast-paced, wholesale foodservice operation. You will cut, trim, and portion fresh and frozen meats to exact specifications, package and label products, and prepare orders for diverse customers across restaurants, hotels, healthcare, and institutions. This role works in refrigerated environments, follows strict food safety, sanitation, and quality standards, and uses knives and meat-cutting equipment safely. Receive, trim, cut, and portion fresh and frozen meats to company specifications Operate knives, saws, and meat-cutting equipment safely and efficiently Package, label, and stage meat products for wholesale customer orders Follow food safety, sanitation, and temperature control standards at all times Inspect meat quality, report issues, and minimize waste and product loss Maintain a clean, organized work area, including equipment and tools Work collaboratively with production and warehouse teams to meet shift goals Follow production schedules and meet daily output and accuracy targets Lift, move, and stack boxes and meat products in a refrigerated environment Adhere to company policies and safety procedures, including PPE use Meat cutting and trimming Knife handling and safety Food safety and sanitation (HACCP principles) Portioning and weighing products Reading production orders and labels Basic math for weights and counts Operating meat-cutting equipment and tools Cold storage and refrigerated warehouse work Quality inspection of meat products Packing, labeling, and staging orders Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Food safety or HACCP certification preferred OSHA or workplace safety training a plus Prior meat cutting or butchery training beneficial
