Crater/Assembler - 1st Shift Electric Machinery Company. a division of WEG Electric Corp. Minneapolis, Minnesota Major Areas of Accountability: Makes skids, crates and boxes to required dimensions and wraps, seals, packs and anchors equipment and parts for shipment. Reads shipping instructions, packing specifications, dimension drawings and other information covering preparation, handling and transportation of equipment, accessories and parts. Does necessary design and layout, makes skids, crates and boxes to process specifications. Wraps, seals, packs and braces large and small machines, parts and accessories for shipment, domestic and export. Prepares machines and other equipment for long term storage. Makes and uses stencils for export boxes. Inventories and inspects parts for shipment from invoice or packing list. Does necessary bracing, anchoring, wrapping and covering in loading railroad cars. Uses Instapak Foam Packaging System in preparing small parts or subassemblies for shipment. Fills out and dates all quality and customer documentation required in the shipping department. Maintains inventory of materials used in shipping department. Actively participates in continuous improvements. Requires minimum supervision. Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA Regulations. Knowledge/ Skills/Abilities: High School degree or equivalent with a minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience preferred. Knows how to use both power and hand tools that are necessary to do the work. Must show aptitude to utilize computers for shipping information. Must be able to work as a team member. Must have basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions)
