Fractional Operations & Logistics Manager

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Fractional Operations & Logistics Manager based in New York City to oversee the operational execution of the company’s logistics, supply chain, inventory, and fulfillment functions. This is a hands-on fractional role requiring a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented professional who can quickly assess priorities, improve processes, and ensure seamless execution across both direct-to-consumer (DTC) and wholesale channels. The ideal candidate is a strong problem-solver with excellent analytical, operational, and communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. This individual will work closely with the internal team and external partners to oversee inventory flow, logistics, production coordination, wholesale fulfillment, and operational systems while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability.

Key Responsibilities: Supply Chain & Production Coordination Oversee the product lifecycle from production readiness through final delivery Partner with production teams and manufacturers to monitor timelines, quality control, and delivery schedules Maintain production and delivery calendars and ensure key operational milestones are met Proactively identify delays, troubleshoot issues, and implement contingency plans Ensure clear communication between production, logistics, sales, and external partners Inventory & Logistics Oversee inbound and outbound logistics across domestic and international shipments Manage wholesale fulfillment, including shipments to department stores and key retail accounts Oversee inventory tracking and reconciliation across sales channels Manage warehouse relationships and processes, including receiving, quality control, storage, inventory handling, and shipping Oversee pick, pack, and fulfillment processes for wholesale orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency Maintain luxury-level packaging and presentation standards Monitor stock levels and identify potential inventory discrepancies, overstock, or stockouts Coordinate domestic and international shipping and troubleshoot delivery issues as needed Maintain working knowledge of international shipping requirements, including tariff classifications, HS codes, duty rates, and customs requirements Establish and maintain inventory controls and regular reconciliation procedures Retail / E-Commerce Operations Oversee product setup and maintenance within Shopify, including product pages, SKUs, pricing, variants, and inventory syncing Ensure accurate and timely product launches aligned with seasonal calendars Coordinate product imagery, descriptions, pricing, and merchandising details to ensure accuracy and consistency Troubleshoot product listing, inventory, and operational site issues to support a seamless customer experience Wholesale Operations Oversee the wholesale order lifecycle from order confirmation through fulfillment Coordinate with retail partners, buyers, and distributors regarding delivery schedules, shipping requirements, and compliance Manage order entry, invoicing, and adherence to retailer routing guides Support operational needs surrounding market appointments, trade shows, and seasonal selling periods Ensure wholesale orders are accurately processed, tracked, and delivered on schedule Systems & Process Optimization Manage and optimize ERP, EDI, Shopify, inventory management, and order management systems Assess existing workflows and identify operational inefficiencies Develop practical, scalable processes appropriate for a growing business Create and maintain SOPs to ensure consistency and accountability across operational functions Establish clear reporting, tracking, and communication systems for the internal team Financial & Reporting Track operational costs, including shipping, warehousing, duties, and other logistics expenses Partner with leadership and finance to monitor operational budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities Support margin analysis and accurate landed-cost visibility Prepare regular reporting on inventory, fulfillment, shipping, and operational performance Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as a key operational liaison across design, production, sales, finance, and external partners Ensure alignment around seasonal calendars, deliveries, product launches, and wholesale commitments Establish clear priorities and follow-through across teams to ensure deadlines and operational requirements are met Qualifications 5–8+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain, with fashion, luxury apparel, or consumer goods experience strongly preferred Experience working within a growing or scaling brand Strong understanding of inventory management and operational systems Experience with international shipping, import/export requirements, customs, duties, and HS classifications Strong knowledge of wholesale distribution and retailer compliance requirements Understanding of production and manufacturing workflows Experience with Shopify and relevant ERP, EDI, inventory, and order management platforms Proven ability to build, improve, and document operational processes Strong financial and analytical skills Highly detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and prioritization skills Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working independently within a fractional structure Ability to prioritize and drive execution effectively Excellent communication, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Compensation Market-competitive and commensurate with experience and scope.
