Apply for this role →Obstetrician / Gynaecologist for International Humanitarian MissionsImplement gynecological and obstetric procedures, performing any required treatment during or immediately after a woman’s delivery to improve women’s reproductive health and reduce pregnancy and delivery risks. This role adheres to MSF policies, protocols, and universal hygiene standards, requiring multidisciplinary collaboration with other medical doctors and midwife services.
Responsibilities:
Provide health care related to gynecology and obstetrics to patients, including prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
Ensure the implementation of MSF clinical policies, tools, guidelines and protocols related to gynecology and obstetrics to minimize clinical risk and extend best reproductive practices.
Collaborate with other medical colleagues to collect quantitative gynecological data and ensure exhaustive use of management tools to improve results and share knowledge with field specialists.
Plan and supervise HR processes (recruitment, training, performance evaluation, development, internal and external communication) for gynecological staff to ensure efficient sizing, required knowledge, and active participation in preventive practices.
Supervise maintenance and operation of gynecological equipment and drug consumption, prepare new orders when required and ensure rational use; keep pharmacy stock levels updated and available.
ProfileEducation and formation
Essential: Final Specialization in Obstetrics/Gynecology
Experience
Essential: minimum 2 years post‑specialization practice as Obstetrician/Gynaecologist in a hospital with multidisciplinary activities.
Desirable: experience in obstetric emergency.
Desirable: work experience with MSF or other NGOs in developing countries.
Languages
Essential: English (B2 or higher).
Essential: Spanish (C1 or higher).
Knowledge of French is an asset.

Position ConditionsWork Venue: Wherever the project needs require it.
Benefits:
Monthly remuneration with an approximate bonus of USD 1,500 in the first year, increasing thereafter based on experience and responsibility. Includes private medical, hospital, temporary disability and life insurance; arranged medical evacuation. Housing and basic services covered; transport, visas, and displacement costs covered. Per diem available for meals and personal expenses.
Start date: Depending on project needs.
Availability:
Minimum 6 months, with commitment to at least 2 years of engagement and 2–4 assignments.
MSF operates in natural disasters, conflict and war zones, endemic and epidemic zones, and social violence and extreme marginalization contexts. Roles may require travel to any of these settings.
