Apply for this role →The College of Health and Human Services at Shawnee State University seeks qualified individuals to serve as part-time faculty (adjunct) in the Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) Program. Adjunct faculty may be needed during fall, spring, and/or summer semesters to provide instruction in graduate-level occupational therapy courses based upon program enrollment, curricular needs, and faculty expertise.
Candidates invited for an on-campus or virtual interview may be required to present a teaching lecture, laboratory demonstration, or other instructional activity demonstrating their ability to teach graduate occupational therapy students.

Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience
Must possess a minimum of a master's degree in occupational therapy or a related field appropriate to the assigned teaching responsibilities. A doctoral degree is preferred for selected graduate-level teaching assignments.
For occupational therapists providing instruction in areas requiring occupational therapy professional expertise or clinical practice, the applicant must be an occupational therapist who is eligible for and maintains appropriate professional licensure in the State of Ohio, as applicable to the assigned responsibilities.
Must possess professional, clinical, academic, or scholarly expertise appropriate to the specific course content and assigned teaching responsibilities.
Must demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience in the assigned content area to effectively support graduate-level occupational therapy education.
Clinical practice experience relevant to the assigned course content is required when the instructional assignment includes clinical skills, assessment, intervention, or other practice-based occupational therapy content.
Must be able to effectively communicate with students and faculty and demonstrate the ability to support student learning in the MOT Program's hybrid educational delivery model, when applicable.
Must meet all applicable University requirements and accreditation expectations related to faculty qualifications, credentials, professional licensure, and assigned teaching responsibilities, including ability to obtain graduate faculty status.
