Job Summary: The primary function of the Assistant Superintendent is to support the Superintendent in the day-to-day field operations of assigned hotel renovation projects. This position assists with coordinating subcontractors and field personnel, maintaining project documentation and site safety, monitoring quality and schedule, and helping ensure the project is completed in accordance with contract requirements, company standards, and client expectations.
Duties/Responsibilities: Assist theSuperintendent with day-to-day field operations and supervision ofassigned hotel renovation projects. Assist withcoordinating field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and deliveries tosupport project schedules and efficient jobsite operations. Participatein project hand-off meetings with the Superintendent, Project Manager, Estimator, and other project team members to understand project scope, specifications, schedule, and client expectations. Support theSuperintendent in implementing the project schedule and monitoringsubcontractor and field staff progress against established deadlines. Assist withpreparing and maintaining two-week look-ahead schedules and communicatingupcoming activities, manpower needs, and potential schedule impacts. Maintainaccurate daily reports, job journals, photos, and other required projectdocumentation. Assist withtimely and accurate submission of field reports, time records, and otherrequired project paperwork. Help enforcejobsite safety requirements, maintain required safety documentation, andimmediately communicate safety concerns to the Superintendent. Assist withweekly safety meetings, toolbox talks, subcontractor coordination, andrequired sign-in documentation. Monitorworkmanship and quality, identify deficiencies, and assist withmaintaining and completing punch lists to minimize rework. Coordinatewith the Superintendent, Project Manager, and Procurement team to helpensure materials, supplies, equipment, and rentals are available whenneeded. Verifydeliveries and materials against project requirements and reportshortages, damage, or discrepancies to the Superintendent. Assist withdaily subcontractor coordination and sequencing of work, particularly inoccupied or operational hotel environments. Serve as afield point of contact for subcontractors and vendors as directed by theSuperintendent and communicate project expectations clearly. Providefeedback to the Superintendent regarding subcontractor performance, quality, manpower, and schedule adherence. Identifyfield issues, manpower concerns, conflicts, or inefficiencies and workwith the Superintendent to resolve them promptly. Assist withpermits, inspections, and maintaining required jobsite documentation asdirected by the Superintendent. Do notdirect or authorize work outside the contracted scope without approval; communicate potential change-order work to the Superintendent and Project Manager before proceeding. Maintain aprofessional company presence on-site and communicate respectfully withhotel staff, guests, owners, subcontractors, vendors, and other projectstakeholders. Other Dutiesas Assigned

  • Proficient in operating a computer, iPad, and phone, with the ability to quickly learn and use related software.
  • Ability to support the Superintendent on assigned projects and progressively take ownership of defined areas, phases, or scopes of work. Education Experience & Certifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or construction management coursework preferred.
  • Prior construction field experience preferred; experience in hotel renovation, commercial renovation, or occupied-space construction is a plus.
  • Valid Driver’s License
Physical Requirements: The employee may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, lift, carry, pull, grasp, climb, crawl, crouch, sit or bend over for periods without relief. The employee must be able to lift, carry and move up to 50 pounds as needed. Employees in this position must be able to climb ladders and stairs to access platforms and scaffolds, as well as walk around indoor and outdoor job sites with distances up to one mile on uneven, paved, gravel, dirt, or sandy surfaces. Employees must be able to work on elevated platforms, scaffolds, and landings. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus.
