Apply for this role (opens in a new tab)Our client is an investment banking advisory firm. They seek a VP Controller, Corporate Functions to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities:
- Lead financial oversight of technology investments, including budgeting, capitalization, and cost governance
- Manage the annual technology investment plan and identify cost trends, accounting issues, and optimization opportunities
- Consolidate global financial results and deliver reporting and analysis to support executive decision-making
- Enhance financial reporting processes by streamlining workflows and improving reporting efficiency
- Support compensation planning through financial modeling, tracking, and analysis
- Analyze budget-to-actual results and prepare variance reports and presentations for senior leadership
- Partner with procurement, accounts payable, and finance teams to ensure accurate accounting and expense reporting
- Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including accruals, reclassifications, and financial reporting
- Assist with regulatory filings and accounting policy initiatives in collaboration with technical accounting teams
- Oversee accounting for strategic projects, contracts, and capitalized assets while supporting process improvements and system enhancements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field8/9+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or a related roleIT/Technology finance required
- Financial services industry required
- Experience with Technology Investment accounting, capitalization, and cost governance
- Experience with financial systems and ERP platforms
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, accuracy, and analysis
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skillsCPA or equivalent is a plus
